Welcome to King of Kings

Please join us for some important changes in our worship - beginning September

Changes are Happening!

King of Kings Lutheran Church invites the community to visit our facilities on September 12.  We begin with a new, more informal worship style at 8:15 am with Beth Colbert at the piano, Blind Sight (our youth band) 1-2 times each month, and weekly children's sermons by the Pastor or the puppet troupe.  At 9:30 am our Sunday School begins a new Rotational Model of learning using a variety of options for teaching the Bible lesson (ex., storytellers, technology, crafts, cooks, etc. - something different each week).  The 10:45 am worship will be accompanied by Ruth Adams on the organ, featuring the vocal choir and include brass and handbells periodically.  Children's church is available every week for children age 3-7.  Following the late service on the 12th, all are welcome to a picnic on the grounds.  Tours will be held at that time to showcase other interior changes to the building.  Games are available for all ages.

Beginning on September 18, our Sunday evening service will move to a new day and time - Saturdays at 5:00 pm - and will be held in the Fellowship Hall.  This service will be a time of reflection & discussion on the week's Bible lessons.  Nursery care is available each Sunday between 8:00 am and noon, and all services will celebrate Holy Communion.

Message from the Pastor

King of Kings continues to grow into the missional congregation God is calling us to be. Following our mission trips in 2010, we are already planning three trips in 2011.

Our adults will return to Mustard Seed Ministry in Goshen, New York. Our youngThe adult "Mission Trippers" will be sharing their experiences of God's work at worship on Sunday, October 3rd.

Our Senior Youth Group returned from Philadelphia after spending a week at a number of different mission sites as they collaborated with the Center for Student Missions. They will tell their story on Sunday, September 19th.

Next summer we plan to work with JOSHUA cooperative ministries in Steubenville, Ohio. This event is open to all youth who have completed their freshman year in high school.

We continue to support a number of benevolent projects with our tithes and offerings as well as sharing household items and giving of our time. During the summer of 2010 we welcomed two more families through our active support of the Center for New Americans. Matthew 25 Farm in Tully drew a few carloads of people ranging in age from 6 - adult, and several hundred pounds of food was picked and distributed to the food pantry we support in Syracuse.

These are exciting times at King of Kings. Come and join us as we worship and praise God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
